The Icelandic Design Awards will be in January
The award ceremony and a seminar scheduled to take place on the 5th of November has been postponed due to recent circumstances because of the Covid 19 pandemic. The Icelandic Design Awards 2020 and the seminar will take place in January 2021. Further dates and information to come.

This year, the Virtual Design Destination by the danish digital gallery Adorno will be the place to discover fourteen curated country collections of collectable design during the London Design Festival,12th- 20th of September, featuring more than 200 exclusive pieces.

Valdís Steinarsdóttir Nordic designer of the year at Formex Nova 2020
In fierce competition with top designers from all over the Nordic region, Formex Nova 2020 is awarded to the Icelandic designer Valdís Steinarsdóttir, who in her work focuses on recycling natural materials. Together with researchers she has, among other things, developed two completely new materials, Bioplastic Skin and Just Bones.

"HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?" - IUA MA Design, Explorations and Translations Graduation Exhibition

It actually happened! Iceland held their annual designfestival, DesignMarch, in June
Iceland’s annual design festival, DesignMarch, initially scheduled for the end of March, took place for the 12th time in Reykjavik from 24-28 June, transforming the northernmost capital of the world into one big venue for design with over 100 shows and over 80 exhibitors.
